Harry Potter and the Cursed Child officially opened at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre with a red carpet event attended by cast and crew. Director John Tiffany, playwright Jack Thorne, and producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender attended the opening.
J.K. Rowling sent a letter and cake to those involved in the Australian production, adding that her ‘heart was in Oz’. The Melbourne production of Cursed Child is the third in the world after the West End and Broadway stagings. Later this year Cursed Child will open in San Fransisco before heading to Germany in 2020.
